Poppy Seed Bread

I am going to a Womens Conference tomorrow and I have to wake up early to do so. So this is in preparation for going. If I make it the night before, then I will actually eat. I am not a morning person, so if this hadn't been made, I would have gone without. So, this is for you Michelle, my wonderful sister that is going with me! She gets some too!! It came from Lion House Bakery cookbook. It turned out awesome! Enjoy!
Poppy Seed Bread
1/2 c. butter, melted
3 1/2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. poppy seeds
1 recipe Orange Almond Icing
Icing:
1 tbsp. orange juice
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1/4 c. powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together butter, oil, eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract.

In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, and poppy seeds. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture until well blended but not over mixed. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes.

Test for doneness by sticking a toothpick in the loaf, just off center. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bread is done. Turn loaves out onto wire racks to cool. Frost with Orange almond icing.

To make icing, mix all icing ingredients in a small bowl until well blended.
