White Chocolate and Walnut Blondie Brownies

This is Joe's favorite dessert aside from cheesecake. He loves Applebee's Blondie brownie. But we hardly ever get it. I found this recipe on a food blog that is all top-secret recipes. They are basically as close as you can get to the actual food you love without stealing the recipe. It isn't the recipe exactly, but pretty darn close. For FHE on Monday, this is what we had. It turned out great and really yummy!! Enjoy!

White Chocolate and Walnut Blondie Brownies
4 egg whites
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
8 oz. white chocolate cut into chunks
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Sauce:
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp. maple syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
8 scoops vanilla ice cream
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. To make the Blondie cake, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Add softened butter, 1/2 c. packed brown sugar, 1/4 c. granulated sugar, and vanilla and mix until smooth with mixer. IN as separate bowl sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well until smooth. Mix in milk, white chocolate chunks and walnuts. Pour ingredients into a greased 9x13 inch pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until cake is golden brown on top. Slice cake into 8 equal slices when cool. Combine all ingredients for the sauce in a medium bowl with an electric mixer. To prepare dessert, heat a skillet in a hot over for 10-15 minutes or serve on a dinner plate. Arrange the cake on a skillet or plate. Heat sauce for 30-60 seconds in the microwave. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the cake, then drizzle some of the sauce over the top, followed by a tbsp. of chopped walnuts.
