Heavenly Rolls

So good! Really, one of the better roll recipes I've found. I'm picky when it comes to rolls and bread, but this hit the nail on the head. So good and perfect. It came from my Cooking for Two cookbook, so it isn't a ton of rolls and when there are just 3 of us right now, it is great! Enjoy!
Heavenly Rolls

1/2 c. warm water
2 tsp. yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 egg, well-beaten
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar to yeast (sugar will help activate the yeast). Melt butter. Stir milk into melted butter. Add the milk mixture and eggs to yeast. Stir in enough flour to make a stiff dough. Knead 5-7 minutes on floured surface. Place in greased bowl and put in warm place to rise. let rise about 30 minutes. Punch dough down. Shape rolls. Place in warm area and let rise 30 minutes more. Bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Place on cooling rack and brush butter over tops of rolls.
