Super Soft Sugar Cookies

This recipe is from www.lilluna.com and is fabulous! They are soft, sweet, and perfect! We made spring shaped cookies in hopes to make Spring actually come! Despite our efforts, just 2 days later, it snowed 3 inches here. Blah! Regardless, they were good cookies! Enjoy!

Sugar Cookies
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. almond extract
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter, cream cheese and sugars in large bowl until fluffy. Add egg and almond extract. Beat until smooth. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Stir until soft dough forms. Roll out and cut with cookie cutter. Thin dough will make crunchy cookies. If you want soft dough, it needs to be about 3/8 inch. Cut out shapes. Bake 8-10 minutes on greased pan.
