Holy Moly! These are SO good! I would eat them all, but don't want to gain 25 pounds in a day. So amazing! And surprisingly easy. It uses a basic dough recipe. I used Pioneer Woman's cinnamon roll dough. Just the dough, none of the other stuff on it. And I cut the recipe in half. Otherwise it makes enough dough for 40-50 cinnamon rolls! And it is delicious! Enjoy!
Cinnamon Knots
Basic dough recipe
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter, melted
Icing:
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. butter, melted
2-3 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Make basic dough recipe.
Mix cinnamon with sugar. Cut dough into 18 pieces. I just eye balled it and did a 2-3 inch ball of dough. Roll each piece into an 8 inch rope. I tied them in a knot before, but will not do that again. It just doesn't get enough cinnamon sugar on it!
Then roll into the melted butter.
Then roll into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Tie the dough rope into a loose knot.
Grease 2 muffin pans. Place a knot in each hole. Cover with plastic wrap and let double in size.
Remove wrap. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan and place on a cooling rack.
Brush with icing while still warm. Icing: Cream powdered sugar and butter with a mixer. Add vanilla. Add milk and beat until light and fluffy.
I always get so hungry looking at this blog. YUM to all of them!! I will have to try everyting- we need new recipes to switch it up a little. Thanks for sharing!
