Homemade Ranch Dressing

I LOVE ranch.  Like, love it, love it.  But the restaurant kind. I hate the bottled kind that you buy in the store.  I can't find any that tastes good.  It is all super tangy for my tastes.  I like the rich, thick, creamy kind.  You know, that kind that is really bad for you.  But then I found this.  Ahh..breath of fresh air!  So yummy and easy to make!  Enjoy!

Homemade Ranch Dressing
1 clove garlic, or garlic powder
Salt to taste
1/4 c. parsley
2 tbsp. chives
1 c. Mayonnaise
1/2 c. sour cream
Buttermilk*
Mince garlic and sprinkle with salt.  Chop parsley, chives and any other herbs very finely and add to the garlic.  In a bowl combine all ingredients, tasting frequently and adjusting seasonings as needed.  Chill for a couple of hours before serving, thin with buttermilk to desired consistency.

*Buttermilk-if you don't have any on hand, you can mix 1 c. of milk with 1 tsp. lemon juice or vinegar.

  1. Hi Val!

I'm not a ranch fan, but this sounds amazing! Maybe it's the tangy thing that I don't like either! This is a must try!
